2nd Bloggers Fiesta Manila at Cyberzone SM North Edsa

Around 180 bloggers attend the 2nd Bloggers Fiesta Manila which held at Cyberzone SM North Edsa last August 20, 2011.
As a beginner in blogging, 2nd Bloggers Fiesta Manila was an opportunity for me wherein I’ve learned a lot from the speakers who talked and shared their ideas and tips in blogging.
Azrael Colladilla, an organizer of the event and one of the speakers talked about “Blog Layout and How to use Blogger Template Designer”. His talks were been great help to all novice bloggers who plan to create their own blog and design it with appropriate template which could attack readers. To get some more tips about blogging from Mr. Colladilla, you can visit http://azraelsmerryland.blogspot.com
Other speakers who shared their techniques in blogging are Mr. Joney Uy, David D’ Angelo, Jenny Manongdo, Bob Reyes, Juned Sonedo, Marlon Guzman, Marnell Delos Reyes and Carlo Ople. All are excellent in sharing their thoughts. They gave words which help all the bloggers to have a good quality of blogs.
Generally, in this event I observed the good camaraderie which bloggers showed to each other. They are not selfish to share whatever knowledge they had about blogging. That’s why I enjoyed the event and I am looking forward to attend the next event.
To all the bloggers who failed to attend, wish you were there!

Social Media: An Agent of Change for Social Good

Thank God it’s Friday! But instead of hanging up with my friends, I opted to attend the Bloggers Fest 2.0 which held at Trinoma Event Center last August 5, 2011. This is not my first time attending blogger fest. And every time that there is an event like this, I am very excited to attend because of the talks that every speaker shared with us which can give an additional tactics on how to write a good article and to be a good blogger. Bloggers Fest 2.0 has a theme, “Social Media as an agent of change”.
Why social media is considered as an agent of change? Facebook, Twitter, Google +, Tumblr are example of social media which we, wherever we are, we use these social media to interact, to connect, to posts and to share whatever thoughts, opinions and feelings we had on certain things. These social networking are now significant on our daily lives which changed the way we access information.
Ms. Gang Badoy, a media practitioner and one of the speakers of the event, spoke about how we bloggers can become positive change agents through social networking. We write and blog because we want to share our feelings and opinions. Though there is what we called “freedom of expression”, we must be responsible on every post we had. Since, social media has global impact. We should know how to control the power of social media for social good. Thus, social media is an agent for change. Just like we blogger, we are an instrument for change. We write because we want to share our opinions. For example, issue of politics here in our country. We write because we want change which will be beneficial and socially good for us.
Bloggers Fest 2.0 was ended with a successful interaction and put good ideas on my mind on how to be a responsible and effective blogger and use social media for social good.
